Classic Maya period collapse

Near Right- the ruins of Tikal. In addition to cutting down trees for fields, they cut them down for cities, too. Far right- Drought-stricken fields.

I think the Mayans collapsed because they cut down so many trees that there weren't enough trees to cut down the amount of carbon dioxide, so they breathed in lots of carbon dioxide and lots died. There is
also evidence of a drought soon after, which would have killed plants, making it so there wasn't anything to purify the air for them. And the drought might have made the land so bad that it just wasn't worth living there. So, they decided "Yucatan Ho!"

I am now in Northern Peru, visiting the Moche people. They made really good pottery (right). They used it for their records. Onto the Sicans next!
Right now, it is the year 1000. I am in what in 2008 we would call Peru, but because I am with the Sicans right now, it is not called that.
I just got back from shell diving. I am going to go to the Chimu next.

Vice presidential debate

I think the two vice presidential candidates are wrong because what they said would not really work. First of all, Sara Palin didn't even answer the question. Joe Biden is wrong because we should cut taxes.
Sara Palin is wrong because she doesn't even know what John McCain did in the Senate. Joe Biden is wrong because he didn't answer the question. I think that John McCain doesn't really have a "maverick record." A maverick is a rebel. John McCain isn't really a rebel.
I think they both are wrong because they both acted like they supported the war. I think it is important to end terrorism, but we should also protect our soldiers. We should withdraw ASAP. I also think we should have never entered the war.

Economic plan

We are in a time of economic crisis. Homeowners all over the country are facing foreclosure. Banks are needing to borrow from investors increasingly. As presidential candidates John McCain and Barak Obama said,
"The American people are facing a moment of economic crisis. No matter how this began, we all have a responsibility to work through it and restore confidence in our economy. The jobs, savings, and prosperity of the American people are at stake."
I have a good plan for fixing our economy. I think we should have banks and homeowners borrow invest and get support from investors on more of a local level than national or even international. I also think that our nation's richer population should help businesses in debt.
Hopefully that will help heal our economy.
